THE ATM2 BASED ON THE HOFFMAN CONCEPT

BackProject's ATM2 (Active Therapeutic Movement), is based on the automatic training technology concept developed by Jonathan Hoffman, BPT Grad Dip Manip Ther (Australia). The ATM2 enables personalized body repositioning for finding a unique pain-free position for each patient. Once this pain-free position is found the system stabilizes the patient. Then the previously painful trunk and limb movements are performed.

How does the ATM2 work?

  • It transitions almost every painful back, neck, pelvis, knee, hip and shoulder movement to become totally 100 pain-free, so that up to full strength isometric exercises can be performed; while Normalize(ing) muscle activation patterns, i.e. re-activate core stabilization muscles, so that global muscles no longer need to compensate for lack of core stability, and can rather focus primarily on global movements; and
  • Provide significant "within-session" outcomes. FYI: according to a study published in the Australian Journal of Physiotherapy by Hahne (2004;50(1):17-23), when "within-session" improvements occur, then "between-session" improvements are three times more likely; and
  • Provide a safe, easy to use, user operable environment to do simple, but yet very effective core strengthening exercises for long-term wellness programs.
*Ascent Physical Therapy was the first professional healthcare practice to bring this amazing product to the state of Nevada. Since then, we have remained in close contact with Jonathan, the concept inventor, in the functional clinical advancement of the ATM2. Jonathan has since developed the CoreAlign, a revolutionary new device designed to train the core stabilizing muscles to improve posture, balance and functional movement pattern. The CoreAlign is currently in production and Ascent Physical Therapy has been asked to be one of the first clinics from around the world to introduce this new device.
