KEVIN A. BIGLEY, PT, MSPT


Kevin is the owner and director of Ascent Physical Therapy. In 1988 Kevin graduated with a B.A. in Business Administration from Belmont Abbey College. He then went on to receive his Masters of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Boston University in 1993.

Kevin has had extensive training in many aspects of orthopedic physical therapy, including manual therapy, dynamic stability and muscle balance training, breathing evaluation and management, and neurodynamic mobilization. He continues to advance his clinical skills and knowledge by attending several national and international conferences annually. These conferences feature world renowned researchers and clinicians, who present cutting-edge scientific evidence and treatment techniques. This effort reflects Kevin's commitment to keep current with the research in our field, and ensure that we offer the most advanced and proven treatment techniques to our patients. As a result, he has authored several articles that have been published in Sierra Sports Journal and Trail Runner magazine, pertaining to musculoskeletal health, fitness, and training.

Kevin is a guest lecturer for the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. He has also worked on the medical staff for the AVP/Crocs professional volleyball tour and is currently one of the team physical therapists for the Western Nevada College athletic program.

Besides his professional accomplishments, Kevin is an avid runner and has completed in numerous marathons and ultramarathons including the Western States Trail 100 Mile Endurance Race in 2000. Kevin also serves as the Vice President of the Sagebrush Stompers running club, a non-profit organization, which organizes and manages several running events each year to raise money for multiple local charities. Kevin helped create the Tahoe Rim Trail 50K / 50 Mile / 100 Mile Endurance Runs in 2001 and served as co-race director for 7 years. This race has been recognized as a national championship event by the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) and the USA Track and Field Association. He has also donated his time as a coach for the Tahoe Fit marathon training program, as a medical consultant for both the Sagebrush Stompers and Tahoe Mountain Milers running clubs, and as an AYSO coach and referee.

TAMMIE BIGLEY, PT, MSPT


Tammie Bigley is the Director of Women's Health at Ascent Physical Therapy. After graduating from Indiana University in 1991, Tammie went on to receive her Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Boston University in 1993. She has practiced in the Carson City area since 1994, with a focus in outpatient orthopedic care.

After the birth of her 2 children, she developed an intuitive interest in women's health issues. Since that time, she has trained with the world's leading experts in women's health physical therapy, and is now specializing in treating diagnoses ranging from pre and postpartum care and urinary incontinence to pelvic pain syndromes.

Besides being a working mom, Tammie enjoys snowboarding and trail running and has even found time to complete a couple of marathons. She is a member of a local running club, the Sagebrush Stompers, which is a non-profit organization that organizes and manages several running events every year to raise money for local charities.

Tammie serves as a team physical therapist for the Western Nevada Community College athletic program. She has also donated her time as a coach for the Tahoe Fit Marathon training program, and as an AYSO referee and coach.

DANICA L. FINSETH, PT, DPT


Danica joined Ascent Physical Therapy in the fall of 2009. In 2006 Danica graduated with a B.A. in Exercise Science and a Biomedical Studies Concentration from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN in the spring of 2009.

Danica enjoys working with the wide variety of patients in the outpatient setting, with special interests in the practice of women’s health and sports physical therapy. While pursuing her doctorate degree at Mayo, Danica completed a research study to quantify pelvic floor function through observation. The study was presented at the APTA Combined Sections meeting and is currently awaiting publication in the Journal of Women’s Health. Her research along with her overall academic and clinical performance, resulted in her being awarded the Minnesota APTA Student of the Year Award. Currently, she is finishing her Level I Pelvic Floor course from the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute to continue to advance her knowledge of women’s health issues.

Danica is also a staff physical therapist for the Western Nevada College athletic department. She looks forward to continuing and expanding her work with athletes in the Carson City area as she has been involved with sports throughout her life. While at St. Olaf College, Danica was a 4-year starter for the varsity volleyball team. She received All-Conference Honors, was team captain for 2 seasons, won a MIAC conference championship, played in the national tournament, and became 4th all-time overall kill leader in St. Olaf history. Danica continues to play in community women’s and co-ed recreation leagues and looks forward to becoming more involved with local youth volleyball athletes.

In her free-time, Danica is enjoying all the outdoor activities available with living in the Lake Tahoe area. Since moving here from Minnesota, she has started downhill skiing and is enjoying skiing on an actual hill with snow.
